When it comes to board games, retro video
games, Dungeons & Dragons, and Magic: the Gathering, Dice Cit Games has
deep inventories and a great space to play in. We are know for hosting great
events with great people and having a welcoming community, A store run by
gamers for gamers, we're proud to offer an accessible space for the geek in
all of us. Our well cultivated inventory includes nearly all Magic the
Gathering cards, board games, classic videogame consoles and games for them,
RPG books, and fandom collectibles. They're all carefully curated so that you
can find the best the gaming world has to offer. Our calendar is filled with
events ranging from Dungeon & Dragons' Adenturer's league, to Magic
tournaments to our weekly Thursday boardgame meet-up. Whether you come by to
shop, play with friends, or trade in old collectibles, we're confident you'll
enjoy our geek heaven. Established in 2017.
Jimmy envisioned Dice City as a "geek heaven" while he was
helping other entrepreneurs and green/ethical business start-ups in the D.C.
Metro area in the 2010's. He’d always loved collecting games and facilitating
community spaces, and had a popular eBay store. So, when he joined a Friday
night game group with (eventual investor and store manager) Jesse, he found
himself falling in love with games again. But, Jimmy was having a hard time
finding spaces in the vicinity of his NW D.C., Silver Spring, Takoma Park,
Wheaton, and P.G. County stomping grounds that held the sort of events he
sought. When Silver Spring's Mystic Emporium, House of Cards and Toy Exchange
all moved or closed, he knew the time was right to create just such a space
in the neighborhood where Barbarian Comics — the USA's longest-running comic
shop (where he had first been introduced to Magic in ‘93) — has long stood.
DCG was soon famous for its well-curated selection of Boardgames, retro
videogames, Magic and D&D.
