Jaws Board Game Review
In Jaws the board game, one player will be the killer shark off Amity Island, while the others take on the roles of Brody, Hooper and Quint to hunt the shark. Each character will have its own abilities (indicated by their character cards) and together with event cards, provide game actions for the different players. The gameplay is split into two acts — Amity Island and The Orca. Each act replicates the film’s story:
During the Amity Island Act, the shark attempts to eat swimmers at the beach and avoid capture. Other players try to locate the shark’s position and save swimmers from shark attacks.
In the Orca Act, played on the other side of the game board, Brody, Hooper and Quint are on the sinking ship, The Orca. They engage in a battle with the shark. While the shark tries to attack and sink the boat, the other players use additional action and strategy cards to stop the attacks.
If the shark is killed, the players taking on the roles of Brody, Hooper and Quint win; if the shark attack on the Orca succeeds, the shark wins.
