What is the goal? #

In each round, be the 1st player to play all the cards in your hand and score points for the cards that your opponents are left holding

Game setup #

Each player draws a card and the player with the highest card value is the dealer

How many cards are dealt in Uno?

Shuffle the deck and deal each player 7 cards

The remaining cards form a facedown DRAW pile

Picking the 1st card for the Discard Pile

Turn over Draw Pile’s top card to start a starting DISCARD pile

If you pick a Wild or Wild Draw 4, return the card to the deck and pick another card

Gameplay #

  • The player on the left of the dealer plays first and continues on to the left

During your turn:

  • Play a card from your hand by matching the top card on the DISCARD pile with either of the following:
    • number,
    • colour or
    • card type (draw 2, reverse, skip, wild card or wild draw 4)
  • If you do not have a card you can play, you must draw 1 card from the draw pile. If you can play the drawn card, play it.
  • Play moves on to the next player

Draw 4 cards if you are caught not saying \”UNO\” when playing your 2nd last card. You can be caught by any player as long as they catch you before the next player draws a card from the draw pile. If you are not caught, you do not have to draw the extra cards.

Once a player plays their last card, the round is over and points are scored. Once tallied, proceed to next round.
