What is the goal?
Defeat Bowser to win. This game isn’t about collecting money or retirement. You move around the gameboard to collect stars and coins. Reach Bowser Castle and win by spinning 12+ and beating Bowser.
Game Setup
- Separate Action, Minigame, Companion, and Item cards.
- Shuffle and place each deck face down. Sort the coins and star pegs (by colour) into their sections.
- PLACE your character piece on START! Each player takes 5 gold coins
Gameplay
- Everyone spins and the highest spinner goes first! Play then moves to the left.
- Spin and move that many spaces!
- Choose your direction on your first turn.
- A direction cannot be changed until the board splits or you travel along a pipe.
- Face your character in the direction you wish to go.
Even if you have moves left, you must STOP when you reach a Star space.

Follow the rules of the BOARD SPACE that you land.
Your turn ends and the player to your left spins!
Game of Life Super Mario Board Spaces
COIN
Collect (or lose!) the coins shown.
ACTION
Draw and read aloud the top Action card and do what it says. Return used cards to the bottom of the deck.
MINIGAME
Grab the top Minigame card and battle other players for prizes! Return that card to the bottom of the deck.
ITEM
If you reach this space, you may stop and draw the top item card. Keep it to yourself! Your turn then ends. One item card is allowed in your hand, but you can trade for another if you reach another Item space.
COMPANION
If you reach this space, you may stop and draw the top two Companion cards. Keep one, place it in front of you and return the other to the bottom. Of the deck Your turn ends. You can have a maximum of three Companion cards at once, but you may trade for another if you stop on a Companion space again.
PIPE
You may choose to travel to the Pipe space with the matching colour if you reach this space. Then your turn ends.
STAR
Stop immediately! Collect 5 coins or buy a star of that colour for 10 coins. After buying a star, pop a matching coloured star peg into the space on your character’s base. Only one star of each colour is allowed.
BOWSER’S CASTLE
Unlock Bowser’s Castle when you have at least 2 stars. When ready, make your way to this space to battle him. When you reach this space, you must stop on it! Each star adds +1 to your spin. Spin 12 or higher to defeat Bowser!
How to Win?
You can spin to battle Bowser if you reach his castle with two stars! Your spin is boosted by +1 for every star. (For example, if you spin 6 but have 5 stars, your total spin is 11!)
Spin 12 or higher, defeat Bowser, and win the game. Everyone else totals their coins and stars (1 star=10 coins) to see who comes 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
Spin below 12, and Bowser steals all your coins and returns you to the start! Your turn ends.
